Starseed

The truth is written in our genes

He’s not what she expected…

Starseed is a paranormal romantic suspense about Elle Thomas, a hairstylist with psychic abilities. When her hometown of Sweetwater, Colorado is suddenly plagued by UFO sightings, cattle mutilations, abductions and murder, fear is in the hearts of its citizens. Because of her abilities, Elle is shunned. An orphan found in the wilderness, strangely drawn to the stars, she has always been taunted by her peers about being part alien. It’s the last thing she’d ever wanted to be, but her strong psychic abilities make things worse than ever for her. When she meets a handsome mysterious stranger, Kole Stith, her attraction to him is overwhelming and she can’t understand why the feelings aren’t mutual. Her abilities tell her otherwise.

She’s what he never knew he always wanted…

Confirmed bachelor Kole Stith is sent to Earth to retrieve a Starseed—Elle Thomas, and the Dropa Stones—disks that hold secrets of the universe and return them to the Ancient One. Kole discovers he possesses human emotions and falls for Elle. But he must put his feelings aside and discover who is abducting and murdering the citizens of Sweetwater to prove his people aren’t to blame. And fulfill his mission on Earth: Together, Elle and Kole are the only hope to heal Eath's endangered, polluted waters.

About the Book
Details
It's been a long time since I've read a sci-fi, and Ms. Willhoff's Starseed is a sweet mixture of sci-fi romance and mystery. As a child, Elle was found alone on the plains and adopted by the local sheriff. As an adult, memories of an alien taking her to his ship, injecting her with something and then returning her to earth plague her. Currently, the mysterious lights in the night sky folks have seen off and on throughout the years have returned and Elle can't help but wonder if aliens do exist. And if she's one of them. Or is something else going on? Before she can determine what is fact and what is fiction, Elle is drawn to hunky newcomer, Kole. Ever since he rescued Elle and her friend the night the bright lights blinded her and caused her to wreck her car, Elle can't get Kole off her mind. Trouble is he's adamant he doesn't return her feelings. Or does he? He pops up at every turn, with a smile on his face and warmth in his gaze. And he's more than willing to help solve the mystery surrounding the blinding lights in the night sky... Starseed is rich in plot, with just enough action to keep you entertained. Ms. Willhoff's descriptions of mountainous caverns harboring the bright lights and alien life ignite the reader's imagination to where one feels she's standing alongside Elle and experiencing firsthand the unknown depths of Earth and the universe. And the romance between Elle and Kole is a heart-warming journey of two people discovering they are indeed soul mates, as the stars have determined long before these two meet. With some interesting secondary characters, Starseed is an enjoyable read for those who ask Venus to bring her someone to love.
